Yuwantha Yasas, has a B.F.A and Master's degree from Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University, India. He had been painting since childhood and received several awards and recognition for his expression as an artist. He specializes in creative painting, water color, oil, mixed media, acrylic and digital coloring. Yuwantha has studied in many fields such as painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, graphics, textile etc.
He practices painting, printmaking, and graphic designing as his main profession. After completing intermediate studies, Yuwantha won a scholarship to study in India (2010). While living in Banaras, he participated in many exhibitions which were held in Lucknow, Banaras and Mumbai. He paints abstract figurative paintings and prints which depict romantic moods. His final project titled "Tune of romantic painting" was the first achievement in his career.
Hanusha Somasunderam's work attempts to share he struggle faced by upcountry plantation workers in Sri Lanka. this struggle has existed for over a hundred years without a solution or public attention. Although they live in the highlands of the country closer to the clouds and sky, their living conditions are so poor. they contribute to the country's economy and suffer hardship in return. In these works she explores the plight of the tea estate workers who work hard to get their daily wages, contend with nature, landslids, leeches and climate only to bear the strain of what life dictates on account of their work.
